Viareggio
In Tuscany, it is the best known of the coastal towns of Versilia thanks to its beaches, its nightclubs, its famous seafront promenade and its winter carnival, which attracts thousands of Italian and international tourists every year.
You will find a variety of hotels here, from the budget to the ultra-luxury, many of them facing the seafront.
It is an ideal destination for anyone who enjoys a relaxing holiday on the beach, for those who wish to be spoilt and catered for by the numerous services provided by the lidos, and for those who want to browse endlessly through the windows of the many fine boutiques and shops along the promenade, soaking up the atmosphere of the Art Nouveau style that makes this town a little gem.
Don't forget to visit the touristic port to admire the mega-yachts and the many sailboats moored here, perhaps sipping a coffee or an aperitif at sunset, and then have dinner in one of the many cafés in the pedestrian areas of the centre, near the open-air market or in the charming promenade restaurants, many of which are set up directly on the beach.
The Pineta (city park) is very beautiful and a popular destination with its bike rental kiosks, the open air cafés and loads of attractions and activities for children.
If you have decided that the right destination for your summer holidays or a single relaxing weekend by the sea will be Viareggio, you will discover a city on a human scale, cheerful, lively, full of amenities and super welcoming.

The Parks of Viareggio
The Pineta di Levante (east), mostly occupied by a natural park, is a vast green area that stretches from Viareggio to Torre del Lago. It consists of around 6 km of forest crossed by a long tree-lined avenue, called Viale dei Tigli. Halfway down the avenue is the historical Villa Borbone immersed in its beautiful estate.
The Pineta di Ponente (west), located in the city centre, appears to the visitor as a neat small garden. Unlike the other pineta, here you can find plenty of kiosks and bars for an afternoon snack, ice cream or coffee. There are also many hires of classic bicycles or e-bikes and plenty of attractions for children, such as trampolines, toy trains and fairground rides.
Entertainment for young people and night life in Viareggio and Versilia
In Viareggio, the movida fires up especially in the summer months, with clubs and bars along the promenade and on Viale Europa alongside the pineta di levante. There are many evening events organised by the seaside resorts or themed parties in the hotels.
For those with a nostalgia for the traditional disco, you can move a few kilometres, still in Versilia, with clubs such as Seven Apples, Bussola and Capannina di Franceschi.
For the food lovers, don't miss the traditional gastronomic festivals with food stalls and live music.
