Cinque Terre Excursions

In the summer months, a ferry leaves every morning from the port of Viareggio to reach Monterosso after a visit to Portovenere, to return at sunset. It is an excellent solution for those who want to spend a couple of hours by boat admiring the entire Versilia coastline and the peaks of the Apuan Alps, and then reach the Cinque Terre National Park.

Alternatively, the Cinque Terre can be reached by train at any time of the year, leaving from Viareggio station. In an hour you can reach Riomaggiore and from there it is possible to visit the other parts of the park using the signposted paths or the boats that connect one small port to another, and then return in the evening directly to Viareggio station.
